FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Carnegie Library Announces Community Collaboration with the Coweta County African American Museum and Newnan-Coweta Historical Society

NEWNAN, Ga., December 2020 - The Newnan Carnegie Library is excited to announce a new community collaboration with the Coweta County African American Museum/Farmer St. Cemetery and the Newnan-Coweta Historical Society. This collaboration will include community partnerships in programming and events.

On Monday, December 14th, we will release our first two projects. We have produced a holiday video talking about the history and traditions of Hanukkah, Christmas and Kwanzaa. This video will be available on social media on Monday. We also are asking our community to help us decorate our establishments to celebrate this collaboration. Come to the Carnegie on Monday and pick up our grab and go kits. We will have three crafts available for you and your family to enjoy making: one to keep and two to bring back to the Carnegie so we can all decorate our windows for the holiday season.

"We are really looking forward to partnering with the NCHS and the African American Museum," says Carnegie Director, Susan Crutchfield. "Community collaboration is very important to Carnegie's mission and these two organizations are a real asset to Newnan. We look forward to seeing what we can accomplish together."

"The Newnan-Coweta Historical Society is so excited and honored to partner with such wonderful organizations," says Director, Emily Kimbell. "Coweta County is such a rich community with diverse stories and backgrounds, and we are so pleased to be working with the Carnegie Library and African-American Heritage Museum in order to share the stories of all our community members! Especially during this year, we are happy to have the opportunity to work together to spread some holiday hope and cheer!"
