Grass in the Cemeteries

For Immediate Release:

The City of Newnan is Working Diligently on Improvements
Grass at Oak Hill Cemetery

Oak Hill Cemetery has experienced significant grass loss since last year.  Much of this is due to the prolonged drought. We are developing a plan to make improvements, overall, including working with the Coweta County UGA Extension Office to determine any deficiencies in the soil.  The Extension Office will also consult with the City and make recommendations for an appropriate grass cover.

“As soon as we have developed options to reestablish the grass; they will be presented to the City Council,” said Cleatus Phillips, City Manager.

Our cemeteries are historic assets to the City.  The City understands many families have loved ones buried here. The City is fully committed to having the cemeteries looking pristine well maintained at all times of the year in respect toward these families.
